4-Point Inspection

The new 4-Point Insurance inspection. Don’t panic. The changes are not major! But what are these changes and why the changes? Insurance inspections look at the 4 major systems (roof, electrical, plumbing & HVAC) in an older home. Insurance companies want to know that an older home has been maintained and the major systems are in good working order. It is REQUIRED on any home older than 30 years. New changes take effect on September 1, 2018. The purpose of these updates to the 4-Point inspection, as stated by Citizens, is to evaluate risks better and determine whether a property meets eligibility guidelines. Basically, insurers want more information.

We expect a short adjustment period, but we will work closely with you and your clients to make sure this is a smooth transition. Below is a link to an easy-to-read document to walk you through all of the changes. Please take a minute to review, and feel free to reach out to us with questions. The secret weapon to make this transition as smooth as possible is to do PRE-LISTING 4-POINT INSPECTIONS. Call us with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
